Timeline for the day:

 

·          Arrive at Long Wharf—Welcome!                                         9:00 a.m.

·          Meet park ranger and learn procedures for Information kiosk:       9:15-9:30 a.m.

·          Learn procedure for volunteer boat tickets at ticket booth                   935-40 a.m.

·          Board boat for Spectacle Island                                                         10:00 a.m.

·          Arrive at Spectacle Island                                                                  10:15 a.m.

·          Meet staff, see visitor’s center and take a short tour of the island  10:25

·          Depart for George’s Island                                                               12:15 p.m.

·          Arrive at George’s Island                                                                  12:30 p.m.

·          Lunch   and questions                                                                        12:30-1:00 p.m.

·          George’s Island info booth procedures                                  1:00-1:30 p.m.

·          Visitor and volunteer safety (talk by ranger)                                       1:30-2:00 p.m.

·          Short Fort tour                                                                                 2:00-3:00 p.m.    

·          Boat back to Boston                                                                         3:30 p.m.

 

What to Bring:

  • You will need comfortable layered outdoor clothing (islands can be cold in May)
  • Volunteer uniform if you have one
  • Lunch and plenty to drink or money for snack bar on the island
  • sun screen
