2012 Boat Trips
2012 ISLAND EXPLORATIONS WITH THE FRIENDS
Calf, Great Brewster and Rainsford Islands will be the destinations of Friends “Island Expeditions” in 2012. These islands are accessible only by private boats or a beach landing vessel. The Friends and Rowes Wharf Water Transport have offered the trips for several years. The M/V Beachcat transported visitors for both the “Expeditions” and “Sunset Adventures”.
We are planning to continue the popular “Sunset Adventures”. The evening trips will go to Little Brewster, Long, Lovells and Peddocks Islands. Visitors will enjoy evening picnics, beach walks and explorations during the twilight hours leading to sunset.
Proposed dates are: June 20th Little Brewster Island/Boston Light (first day of summer); July 11th Long Island; July 25th Peddocks Island; August 8th Lovells Island; August 22nd Long Island.
The Northern and Southern Lighthouse tours co-sponsored with Boston Harbor Cruises will continue to enthrall lighthouse enthusiasts and photographers.
Confirmed 2012 dates (Saturdays) are Northern trips: June 9, July 7, August 4, September 1 and September 29. Southern tours will be on June 23, July 21 and August 18.

May 12 - Explore and Discover Rainsford Island
Join the Friends on May 12th (10:00 am -2:00 pm) and explore and discover on of Boston Harbor's forgotten jems. Rainsford Island was once home to a farm, used for wood harvesting, and immigration quarantine station. More information to follow. To learn more about Rainsford Island click here!
